Cause and Effect

 



Definition Cause and Effect: Cause and effect is a relationship between cause and effect.

"Everything happens for a reason"

Everything that happens in this world has a cause as well as an effect

 

Generic Structure (general arrangement)

Cause and effect function:Explain or provide information about something happening.


Language Form

Cause – effect = because I wanted to improve my English, I started a blog (karena saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya, saya memulai sebuah blog)

Effect - cause = I started a blog because I want to improve my English (Saya memulai sebuah blog karena saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya).

Effect cause = I started a blog since I want to improve my English (Saya memulai sebuah blog karena saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya).

Cause – effect = As I wanted to improve my English, I started a blog (karena saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya, saya memulai sebuah blog)

Effect - cause = I started a blog as I want to improve my English (Saya memulai sebuah blog karena saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya).

 

So (maka)

Cause – effect = I wanted to improve my English, so I started a blog (Saya ingin meningkatkan bahasa Inggris saya, jadi saya memulai sebuah blog).


Conjunction so tidak bisa digunakan effect dulu baru cause, hanya bisa digunakan cause dulu baru effect. Karena conjunction so diikuti dengan effect.


Transition: Transition is connected two separate sentences.The use of sentences does not change the structure of the sentence, transition doesn't change any meaning.

Example:

Therefore (maka dari itu, oleh karena itu)

Cause – effect = English is very important therefore, we should study English hard (Bahasa inggris itu sangat penting maka kita perlu belajar Bahasa inggris dengan keras)

 

As a result (maka hasilnya, sebagai hasilnya)

Cause – effect = English is very important As a result, we should study English hard (Bahasa inggris itu sangat penting sebagai hasilnya kita perlu belajar Bahasa inggris dengan keras)

 

Consequently (akibatnya atau konsekuensinya)

Cause – effect = English is very important Consequently, we should study English hard (Bahasa Inggris sangat penting Konsekuensinya, kita harus belajar bahasa Inggris dengan giat)

 

Thus (sehingga, jadi)

Cause effect = He didn’t live with his parents for 20 years now. Thus, he felt awkward when met them again yesterday (Dia tidak tinggal dengan orangtuanya selama 20 tahun sekarang. Jadi, dia merasa canggung ketika bertemu mereka kembali kemarin)

 

For this reason (karena alasan tersebut)

Cause effect = She doesn’t like physical and outdoor activities. For this reason, she rejected when her friends asked her to come along to climb the mountain (Dia tidak suka kegiatan fisik dan di luar ruangan. Karena alasan tersebut, dia menolak ketika teman-temannya mengajaknya untuk ikut naik gunung).


Prepositions: Preposition describes an object that is a cause or effect in the form of a noun (noun). Both prepositions can be used - cause first, then effect or effect first, then cause.

Example:

Because of (karena sesuatu)

Cause effect = Because of the rain, I got late (karena hujan saya terlambat)

Effect – cause = I got late because of the rain (Saya terlambat karena hujan)

 

Due to (dikarenakan, dikarenakan oleh)

Cause effect = Due to of the rain, I got late (dikarenan hujan saya terlambat)

Effect – cause = I got late due to of the rain (Saya terlambat dikarena oleh hujan)

 

Thanks to (berkat atau dikarenakan oleh)

Cause effect = Thanks to of the rain, I got late (berkat hujan saya terlambat)

Effect – cause = I got late due to of the rain (Saya terlambat dikarenakan oleh hujan)

 

Caused by (disebabkan oleh)

Cause effect = caused by of the rain, I got late (disebabkan hujan saya terlambat)

Effect – cause = I got late caused by of the rain (Saya terlambat disebabkan hujan)
